We supplied a camera system for a new series of trams for Škoda Transportation and Plzeňské dopravní podniky. Each tram is equipped with a set of smart cameras connected to an on-board computer, with the image displayed on an 18.5″ screen. The system responds automatically to various operating situations, such as when the doors open, the speed changes, or the pantograph is extended. This gives drivers and the operations team a much better overview of what is happening in the car. The implementation took place gradually and in accordance with the client’s precise schedule.
